Project Overview

Project Name:

Hoasys: A Homeowner's Association Management System

Client:

Golden Glow Village 1

Role:

UI/UX Designer

Setting the Stage

As the head designer for HoaSys, I led the creation of this comprehensive Homeowner’s Management System aimed at addressing the inefficiencies faced by Homeowners Associations (HOAs) in Cagayan de Oro City. Through extensive research, including interviews with homeowners from four different subdivisions, we discovered that current HOA tasks such as payment management, record-keeping, elections, and distributing announcements were performed manually, leading to significant challenges and inefficiencies.

Understanding the Problem

To deeply understand the problems faced by homeowners and HOA boards, our research team conducted interviews with homeowners from four different subdivisions in Cagayan de Oro City. This qualitative research approach allowed us to gather detailed insights into the daily challenges and specific needs of our target users.

Key Challenges

Lack of Digital Solutions

None of the HOAs had an existing website, app, or system to manage their tasks.

Next Steps and Learnings

Future enhancements for HoaSys include expanding the platform’s features to incorporate additional HOA tasks such as facility booking, event management, and more advanced reporting tools. Continuous user feedback and data-driven insights will guide iterative improvements, ensuring the platform evolves to meet the changing needs of HOAs and homeowners.

Key Learnings Designing HoaSys highlighted the importance of user-centered design in addressing real-world problems. The project reinforced the need for thorough user research, iterative prototyping, and close collaboration with stakeholders to create a solution that truly meets user needs.

Final Thoughts

Developing HoaSys was a rewarding journey that underscored the transformative power of design in solving administrative and communication challenges faced by HOAs. By creating an intuitive and efficient platform, we aim to enhance the overall experience for both HOA boards and homeowners, fostering a more connected and well-managed community. I look forward to continuing to innovate and contribute to the success of HoaSys through thoughtful and impactful design solutions.
